Borobudur Temple was built in the 8th century. Borobudur Temple was forgotten because it was buried by volcanic ash due to the eruption of Mount Merapi. However, in the end the colossal temple which was built in the House of Syailendra was re-discovered and by Sir Thomas Raffles during colonialism and restoration in 1835.
