Bakso or Meatballs, One of the Famous Food in Indonesia

Bakso are food that is loved by the people of Indonesia. In Indonesia, there are almost everywhere. And the unique thing is this food made from ground meat in every city throughout Indonesia, the ingredients are different.    Bakso are foods made from meat, shrimp, fish that are chopped and crushed with starch and egg whites, usually formed in a round shape. Bakso or Baso are a type of meat ball commonly found in Indonesian cuisine. Bakso are generally made from a mixture of ground beef and tapioca flour, but there are also meatballs made from chicken, fish or shrimp and even buffalo meat. Indonesian people generally call him as meatballs, but most Sundanese call it Baso.    Bakso became famous in Indonesia by the Indonesian Chinese community. The term meatballs is also derived from the word Bak-So in Hokkien (Taiwan) which means it is ground beef. Because the majority of Indonesia's population is Muslim, most Bakso are made from halal meat such as chicken, beef or fish. Nowadays this delicious round food is more widely sold by Javanese people and the famous ones are from the cities of Malang, Solo and Wonogiri. All three cities have their own characteristics. In the city of Malang meatballs are served with a variety of processed dumplings and tofu meatballs, the contents in one bowl of Malang meatballs look more crowded compared to the others. Unlike Wonogiri and Solo, the characteristic of these two cities is the aroma of its beef broth that makes people addicted.
